About This GT Radial MaxTour LX 245/55R19

The GT Radial MaxTour LX All Season Touring in 245/55R19 is a sensible everyday tire for drivers who want steady, predictable behavior more than anything flashy. Its aimed at normal road usecommuting, errands, school runs, and weekend highway tripson vehicles that use this common 19-inch size, often seen on many midsize SUVs and crossovers.

In day-to-day driving, this tire should feel calm and easy to live with. Think smooth pull-aways from a stoplight, stable cruising at 6575 mph, and confident lane changes without the car feeling floaty. For most drivers, that kind of settled feel matters more than sharp handling, especially when youre carrying passengers or loading up groceries.

Rain is where an all-season touring tire needs to earn its keep, and the MaxTour LX is built for that sort of real-world weather. Its the kind of tire youd want when the road is shiny after a sudden downpour and you still need to merge onto the highway, or when youre braking for a yellow light on wet pavement. Comfort and road noise are also part of the touring focus, so its a good match if youd rather have a quieter cabin than a sporty, firm ride.

One honest limitation: all-season doesnt mean all-winter. If you deal with frequent ice, deep snow, or steep untreated roads, you may still want dedicated winter tires for those months. For typical mixed weather and daily driving, though, this is a practical, no-drama choice.
