About This Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme 255/65R17

The Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme in 255/65R17 is an all-terrain tire made for light trucks and SUVs that split their time between regular roads and rougher places like gravel driveways, muddy job sites, forest roads, and snowy neighborhoods. Its a good match for everyday drivers who want one tire that feels dependable year-round without needing a second winter set.

In normal commuting and errands, it aims to give you steady, predictable grip, especially when the road turns slick. In heavy rain, the tread is designed to move water out of the way so the tire can keep holding on during highway merges, longer downhill stops, and those surprise puddles near intersections. It also carries the severe snow rating, which is a reassuring bonus when youre dealing with slushy school drop-offs or an unplowed side street on the way home.

For comfort, Hankook builds in features meant to keep the ride from feeling overly harsh and to help quiet things down for an all-terrain tire. You should still expect a bit more road sound than a smooth highway tire, but its not the kind of constant roar most people worry about on longer trips. The durable design and a 70,000-mile warranty also point to solid longevity for drivers who rack up miles on highways and city streets.

An honest limitation: because its built to handle dirt, rocks, and snow, it wont feel as soft and whisper-quiet as a road-only tire, and you may notice a slightly heavier feel compared with a commuter-focused option. If you want extra capability without turning your daily drive into a chore, its a sensible middle ground.
