About This Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme 255/70R17

The Hankook Dynapro AT2 Xtreme in 255/70R17 is an all-terrain tire made for light trucks and SUVs that split time between daily pavement driving and the occasional messy road. Think commuting during the week, then heading to a campsite, job site, or a rutted gravel driveway on the weekend. The raised white letters also give it that classic truck-tire look if you like a bit of style on the sidewall.

In everyday driving, this tire is built to feel steady and predictable. The tread is designed to bite in more directions than a typical highway tire, which helps when youre turning into a wet parking lot, pulling away from a stoplight in the rain, or driving on dirt and loose gravel. It also carries the mountain-and-snowflake winter mark, which is a good sign for extra confidence when roads get snowy and slushy.

For comfort, it aims to keep the ride from feeling harsh, and its tuned to be quieter than many all-terrain options. Youll still hear some extra hum compared with a street-focused tire, but for school runs and highway trips it should stay very livable, without feeling like youre driving on a set of off-road-only tires.

Longevity is a strong point here, with a long mileage warranty (70,000 miles) and a design meant to wear evenly. One honest limitation: if you rarely leave smooth pavement and youre picky about the quietest ride and best fuel economy, a regular highway tire will usually make more sense.
